Capturing Life in the Midst of Chaos

Sometimes, life can feel like a relentless game of catch-up. Just when we think we’re settling into a rhythm, another curveball gets thrown our way. Lately, it’s been balancing everyday life—work, school drop-offs, endless snack requests—with the routine of Ross’s medical treatments and appointments. We are trying to make each day count. It’s a strange mix of urgency and gratitude as we adapt to this new normal.

One thing we realized recently: it’s been over ten years since we last took real family photos. Not quick phone snaps, but a full, professional shoot. Back then, the kids were tiny (and we only had two of them!). Somehow, between chasing the boys, getting them to a million activities, and just keeping up with life, the idea of sitting down as a family kept getting pushed aside. We never captured us as we are. There was always something else that felt more pressing.

But this season feels different. We wanted to capture this time—the laughter, the messiness, the love—before things shift even more. We were lucky enough to connect with KVSH Productions, and it turned out to be exactly what we needed. We originally scheduled the shoot for a week after Ross’s surgery in September, planning to just “make it happen.” He’d have his plaque brachytherapy. We’d get through that. Then we’d have a weekend filled with smiles and silly poses for the camera.

But, as life would have it, the surgery had to be postponed. And just to keep things interesting, one of our kids woke up sick on the morning of the shoot. For a second, it felt like everything was working against us. KVSH Productions, though, couldn’t have been more understanding. They rescheduled us without hesitation, and looking back, we’re so grateful they did.

When we finally got in front of the camera, the timing couldn’t have been better. KVSH Productions captured our whole, messy, wonderful selves—no perfect poses, just us, exactly as we are in this season. These photos turned out to be more than just pictures. They captured so much of what words can’t really explain. The kids, with all their quirks and personalities, and Ross, with that unmistakable spark and strength in his eyes. KVSH brought out the laughter, the love, and the resilience that has carried us through.

In a time when everything feels up in the air, these photos are like little anchors. They remind us that no matter what’s coming next, we have each other, and that’s more than enough. And having these memories, thanks to the incredible team at KVSH Productions, has been a gift we’ll cherish forever.

Check out these amazing photos! Thank you, thank you, thank you, 1000 times KVSH Productions. Y’all rock!

And this was how Aubrey told us “no more pictures!”
