As many of you know, our family has been on a journey we never expected—facing Ross’s uveal melanoma diagnosis. It’s been a flurry of appointments, travel, treatments, and decisions that have taken us far from our home base and out of our comfort zone. This journey has been filled with challenges. We’ve also experienced incredible moments of kindness and support. These moments remind us we’re not walking it alone.
One of the biggest blessings we’ve received during this time has been through an amazing organization called Eye on Grace. They’ve stepped in to help us with the financial strain of travel as we seek the best care for Ross. A search for medical help began our journey. It quickly turned into a deeper connection with people who genuinely care about our well-being.

I want to take a moment to acknowledge Ashley McCrary. She is the founder of the Eye on Grace Foundation. Ashley has been a true light for us. She’s not only helped coordinate travel support but has been an emotional anchor through the ups and downs. There have been countless moments when a simple text or call from Ashley has made all the difference. Her words, “Find enough light to take the next step,” have stuck with us. They have become a mantra that helps guide us on this journey.

Ross’ treatment involves traveling out of state, and there have been many long days filled with uncertainty. But thanks to the Eye on Grace Foundation, part of one big worry is lifted off our shoulders. We don’t have to worry about how we’ll afford the bulk of constant travel. It allows us to focus fully on Ross’ health. We know that a community of people is standing behind us. They are praying for us and believing in his recovery. Eye on Grace has sponsored 15 people as of September 2024. Whether it’s gas, food, airfare, hotels, Eye on Grace and Ashley’s team is ready to help!
Ashley often reminds us that Ross is a trailblazer, and we see it too. His strength and determination inspire us daily. Even when the road seems hard, grace shows up in unexpected places. This may be through an encouraging message. It can also be through financial support or the compassion of those around us.
We have also found hope and solace in the words of the foundation’s chosen scripture, 2 Corinthians 12:9. The scripture states, “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you. My power is made perfect in weakness.’” This verse comforts us in moments of weakness. It reminds us that grace is always enough to carry us through.

We continue to take each day as it comes, focusing on the next step. We’re incredibly grateful for the love and support that has poured in from family, friends, total strangers, and organizations like Eye on Grace. The road isn’t easy, but it’s one we don’t walk alone.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us—your prayers, messages, and donations have been a light for our family.
