Asking for help is never easy. It’s something I’ve worked through in therapy—questioning my own worthiness, wondering if I deserve to lean on others. Vulnerability, though, is a strength I often encourage in others but rarely embrace myself. This time, I have no choice. I need your help. Yes, you.
My incredible husband, Ross “Doc” Wither, has been diagnosed with uveal melanoma—a rare and aggressive eye cancer. As the rock of our family, he has always been there for us, offering unwavering love and kindness. Now, we are faced with an uncertain journey, with no doctors in our home state of Louisiana and needing to travel to Texas for specialized care.
This is where you come in.
How you can help:
- Prayers – We need all the prayer warriors out there. Pray for Doc’s strength, for our family’s resilience, and for the medical team guiding us through this battle. Every prayer counts.
- Share our Story – Spreading the word is powerful. Help us raise awareness, not only about Doc’s fight but also the importance of annual eye check-ups. Join our Facebook group, I’d Give My Right Eye For That – Ross “Doc” Wither’s Uveal Melanoma Journey, for updates and to follow our journey.
- Letters of Support – Send a letter, card, or digital note to uplift Doc during this time. Knowing he has an army of love behind him will be invaluable. If you’d like our address or prefer to send a digital message, reach out, and we’ll make sure you get the details. Send Doc an electronic note here: https://thetravelingwithers.com/send-doc-a-note/
- Monetary Support – Medical bills and travel expenses are quickly piling up, and while we don’t know the full scope of what’s ahead, we do know it will be costly. If you’re able, your donation—no matter how small—can make a big difference. We’ve set up a GoFundMe, but if you’d rather donate directly without fees, here’s how:
- Venmo: @Megann-Wither
- CashApp: $MegWither
- PayPal: https://www.paypal.com/donate/…
Your $20 could go towards a doctor’s visit or gas for our trips to Houston. Every little bit helps during this uncertain time.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your prayers, shares, and support. Thank you for standing with Doc and our family. Together, we’ll find the strength to get through this. ![]()
